My son, who’s three now, had a lot of stacking toys when he was a baby. My favorite were these stackable colored rings. We all grew up with a version of this toy and because we did there’s something inherently joyful about the form. It’s simple, smooth, familiar and friendly. ⁠

I wanted to create a piece that echos these sentiments but brings them into adulthood. ⁠The Ring Stack Floor Lamp was born.⁠

The lamp is made up of over 70 tubes that are extruded, measured and formed individually. Once leather hard the tubes are stacked and joined from the inside to create the final form. Before executing the shape was planned in 3d so that each ring’s measurements are exact. ⁠
